Ok
, first things first , choose your material ! I chose this cute vintage
pattern. I like those kinds. However , this will work nice with solid
colors too!
Here I did a "woops" and had to break out the handy-dandy seem ripper!
Ok now that this is a tube, we need to close the ends .
Now in order to sew this the "right way" you need to hold down the ends exposing the right side of material (in my case its the side with the flowers on it ,not the white part) and you need to flip them under so you can sew the "right-sides" together. The purpose of this is so we can close the tube while having the extra bit of fabric inside the tube so we can't see it on the outside. In an effort to make a clean seem !
Once this is finished and you have sewn as far as you can with the machine then sew the rest of the hole shut using a needle and thread. now if you were doing this by hand ... just keep on sewing then! lol
And then , with any luck , it will come out looking something like this! If it doesn't .. take a deep breath , look at what you did wrong , and think about how to fix it . This is really simple, it took less than 30 min. to complete!
Well , more to come soon......
Then you will need to measure about 68 inches long piece of cloth that is about 2 feet wide.
Fold the material in half with ways . So that you still have 68 inches in length , but your with is now about 12 inches wide. Pin it together along the side that is open . You will need to sew with a 1/2 inch seem allowance. start at the top and sew all the way down making a tube . Here I did a "woops" and had to break out the handy-dandy seem ripper!
